New year, new countdown.

With the arrival of new years day, the start of 2015 meant the start of our last four and a bit months (I counted each day) at home in New Zealand. Once the house was sold back in October, the tickets were booked, and then there was no going back.

Which is why we did it.

2014 was a big year. I lost my father to his long battle with alzheimers, met a lovely new woman in Bailie, and got out of a long career in the Hunting Industry that had been full of ups and downs, that I had great opportunities in, and had a lot of fun in - but it was time for a change.

Being that I knew it was to be my last opportunity to hunt and fish in New Zealand, and that I had no clue how long I was going to be away for, I made the most of my remaining time at home.

I hope you enjoy my last few months, living the dream in New Zealand, before we head off into the world. I hope to sleep and dream, and hunt my way around, for as long as I can., with Bailie and I going from one adventure to another.

The count down to leaving is now on.

The First day of 2015, and we spent it in the beautiful backcountry of New Zealand chasing high country Trout.
